The Gathering Markit is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Abbotsford families with access to affordable food. We value our customers and offer them the dignity of choosing their own groceries and the convenience of meal kits. We make Good Food go far!
We are at capacity and not accepting new referrals at this time.
How to shop with us
3 steps to becoming a Markit Customer.
WE ARE AT CAPACITY AND NOT ACCEPTING NEW REFERRALS AT THIS TIME.
Step 1.
Reach out to your agency.
Our customers are referred to us by a social service agency or local church.
*We are not open to the general public and do not accept personal referrals.
Step 2.
Orientation. This is an opportunity to tour the Markit and see what we offer.
Step 3.
Customer card setup. *Cards valid for 1 year.
REFERRALS
WE ARE AT CAPACITY AND NO LONGER ACCEPTING NEW REFERRALS.
Agency Referral: Since we are not open to the general public, our agency partnerships and client referral process ensures that access is restricted to Abbotsford community members in need.
Gathering Markit works with agencies that have a stringent criterion for identification, and also with agencies that identify their services as low barrier eligibility. We rely on your intimate working knowledge and your organization’s criteria for defining a temporarily food insecure client. This may be determined by in person interviews, the collection of confidential information, access to government database, or other assessment tools employed by your organization.
*We strive to meet the needs of those who need a temporary hand up. We are not a long term solution and as such do not accept applications where the client requires long term assistance.
